A very nice surprise today was an email from Sophie - she came to us as a "house daughter" from Germany a couple of summers ago, to improve her English for her A-levels, and again to celebrate Christmas and New Year with us. Tag reads": It was great to hear again from Sophie – after almost a year! She had been busy with her studies but now she has finished her A-levels (and passed in English!) and started apprenticeship in the trade of hearing aids, living away from home for the first time in her life. Now we are back in contact via email – not quite the same flair as the letters of my youth, but much more practical for keeping in touch!!!"
